My sympathy, thoughts and prayers are for Mel's family and friends. I have been blessed by his friendship, he was a gentleman of intelligence, kindness, positive attitude. He demonstrated for us his loving and fun pursuit of life. He spoke of his kids with pride and love, his face beaming. Although I have known him a short time, I value that time and will remember him affectionately.
Someday soon Mel,
Michelle

'My darling - Saying a final goodbye to you yesterday was the hardest thing I have ever done. However, I did commune with your spirit through the medium of your children. Their company and support helped to comfort my soul, alleviate, to a point, my grief and provided answers to some puzzling questions regarding your last six months on this earth. Yes, now I think I have achieved Final Closure. And now, my love, off you go to a new beginning. I'm sure you've already traded in your wings for a new bicycle, and are racking up thousands of miles exploring the heavens!! Go with God, Mel, my love. I lost you once, now I have lost you forever and must come to terms with it. You are forever etched in my heart and soul - Rina'

Mel,
I will always remember how tender and sweet you were to Rina.. You allowed her to open up her heart and love again... I think perhaps for the first time in my Dearest Friends life she had a taste of a genuine loving and committed relationship that blossomed over a two year span.. I hope your new journey exploring the heavenly realms, will totally amaze you beyond our earthy imaginations…and that someday your spirit will reunite with the people you left behind..

Mel, my dearest and unforgettable friend, the bright of your soul will shine forever to light up our lives and also the heaven in the arms of our Lord. Ever when I look the sky and see a star shinning I will know that it is you winking to us.
Dear Mel's Family, May God's blessings and the memories of our loved Mel support you forever.
Now just one thing remains: Memories.
I knew Mel around one year ago, I am thankful that God gave me the chance to meet him. The most pleasant time I spent lately was with Mel. A man with a magnify character, sweet heart, worried about the problems that his friends were passing by and ever ready to help all of them. No one compares to you.
The value of the things aren't the time that it during, but in the intensity that it happens. So, in this world does exist unforgettable moments, incomparable persons and unexplained things.
Inside my heart you Mel have a special place forever.
Peace & Light
Your Friend Forever

I still can't believe its true. It seems like just yesterday we were all in school together just doing that high school thing. Making memories for today. Today we are minus one WITH those memories to hold and cherish. You were a wonderful friend taken WAY too soon. God does have a plan for everyone but to have one taken so soon and so young doesn't seem right somehow. Mel, you will be missed so much. To your children I wish them peace and love knowing that you are in a better place and that we ALL will reunite one day. R.I.P. my dear friend til we meet again. From one dear friend..

I always thought that when we leave this earthly life...if we had but one true friend...we were truly blessed. So many people called you their friend and loved you. I am certainly one of those people. I will miss you and never forget you. I still pass by your office and look for you...and that smile. I was truly blessed to have you as my friend. Love to you........

I am so lost without you, My dearest friend. Although we have never met in person. But, someday will!
I will remember your smile,

Mel, my lost love - the children have asked me to post this message for you. They still cannot believe that you are gone. They send their best wishes to your children (especially for Alysia, and the burden of memories she now carries).
For you were very much loved by all of us. I grieved at losing you once, now I grieve to have lost you forever. I will always carry you in my heart.
Have fun exploring the heavens, Explorer3047. Shine down on us. Maybe in another life - we will walk the beaches again.

Words cannot express my sadness of the loss of one of my best friends. I was always inspired by what Mel had to say and will always strive to talk to others as he did to us. He always had a good word to say. From the time I met him in the 8th grade at Lawrence, he was an
instant friend. We were definately in the same class in more ways than
one. I thank Myspace for bringing us back together in the last days after
many years to communicate one last time. I did not meet Mel's family but pray that God will watch over them always. Mel and I were planning a 30 year class of 1978 reunion for next year with some other classmates. I was
looking very much forward to seeing him again after so many years and meeting
his family. This will still materialize next Labor Day in Lawrence in memory of him. I know he will be there in sprit. Please let us celebrate his passing with positive thoughts and rememberence of his positive nature and actions. It is the one trait in Mel that I envied. He is now in heaven with Jesus. I will surely miss him until the day when it is time for me to go.

My heart goes out to Josh, Trevor, Andy, Alec and little Alysia, who have lost a devoted and loving father and a wonderful role model. The world is so much darker for his having left us. May Mel rest in peace.
