Obituary of Charlotte Dodd

Charlotte A. Dodd, 88, of Dowagiac, passed away on Saturday October 27, 2007 at Lakeland Hospital in Niles, following a brief illness. Charlotte was born on January 16, 1919 in Pokagon Township to the late Rolfe L. and Elsie (Miller) Wells. On July 17, 1941 she married Lewis G. Dodd at a ceremony in Sturgis, Michigan. Charlotte graduated from Dowagiac Union High School Class of 1937. She attended South Bend College of Commerce where she received an education in administration. She worked for a short time at the Cass County Courthouse where she was a secretary for the agriculture agent. A homemaker most of her life, Charlotte's hobbies and interests included bird watching, embroidery, reading, and country drives. But most of all Charlotte was known for her gentle nature and her love for her husband and family. Charlotte is survived by her husband Lewis Dodd of Dowagiac, three sons; Jerry L. (Carol) Dodd of Commerce, Texas, Eldon (Kristine) Dodd of Middleville, Michigan, and Braxton (Sharon) Dodd of Dowagiac, two daughters Elsie (George) Stewart of Spokane, Washington, and Lorinda (John) Walters of Manitowoc, Wisconsin, eleven grandchildren, two great-grandchildren, two sisters Josephine Miller and Theona Kephart both of Dowagiac, and a brother Rolfe (Wanda) Wells Jr of Dowagiac.
