Obituary of Troy Robert Sloderbeck

Troy Sloderbeck, 69, of Berrien Springs, passed away on Tuesday, August 20, 2013, at Lakeland Hospital in St. Joseph, MI, with his family by his side.
Troy Sloderbeck was born on March 7, 1944, in Breathitt County, KY. Troy married the love of his life Paulette (Jager) Sloderbeck on August 6, 1966, in Flint, MI. They have resided in Berrien Springs, MI, since 1982.
Troy was a member of Ironworkers Local 292, in South Bend, IN. He worked on the Alaskan pipeline project in 1974. He also worked on the D.C. Cook nuclear construction project in Bridgman, MI, where he later returned as Chief of Civil Engineering. Troy was also a member of Calvary Baptist Church where he served as deacon, ABF teacher & AWANA leader. He enjoyed golfing, hunting, & was an avid fisherman, yet the highlight of his life was the happy times with his children & grandchildren.
Troy is survived by his wife, Paulette, son Scot Robert Sloderbeck of Constantine, MI, daughter Dayna Jean (Dana) Love of Springfield, OH, grandchildren Meaghan and Aoibhgreine Sloderbeck, Addison and Addalyn Love, two brothers, Adam Nix and Ronald Campbell, and sisters Dovie (Dennis) Hannum, Martha Bradley, Linda Kajowski, Mary Watkins, Evaline Hartman, and Rebecca Richie. He is preceded in death by his parents, James and Mary Jane Sloderbeck, siblings Jonny and Lucinda Nix and Judy Faye Campbell.
In lieu of flowers, memorials may be made in Troy's memory to Life Action Ministries, P.O. Box 31, Buchanan, MI 49107.
