Obituary of Paula Wells

Paula Wells, 88, of South Bend, formerly of Niles, passed away at her residence on December 18, 2017. She was born on April 4, 1929, in Benton Harbor to the late Phillip and Bertha (Klamm) Hamilton. Paula graduated high school and was trained as a nurse, working for many years at the former Pawatting Hospital (now Lakeland Hospital of Niles). She was a woman of great faith. She was a former member of the Bethel Baptist Church in Niles and most recently the First Baptist Church of Mishawaka. She was passionately involved in foreign missions and loved seeing her son serve The Lord as he traveled as a missionary. She enjoyed singing in the choir and a dedicated Sunday School teacher. Paula was an avid reader and memorized over five thousand hymns and poems memorized. She will also be remembered as a gifted artist. She was preceded in death by her parents; a son, Ken Wells and three sisters, Ann "Betty Ann" Lassiter, Jean Hamilton and Doris Hamilton. Paula is survived by her son, Rev. Keith (Carla) Wells of Yukon, Oklahoma and six grandchildren and nine great-grandchildren. A service to celebrate Paula's life will be celebrated on Friday, December 22, 2017, at 1:00 pm at the First Baptist Church of Mishawaka. Memorial contributions may be made in her memory to First Baptist Church of Mishawaka, Missions Fund, 724 N Main Street, Mishawaka, Indiana 46545.
