Obituary of Shirley Dumond

Shirley Louise Dumond, 72, of Niles, Michigan passed away February 12, 2008 at Lakeland Hospital in Niles, Michigan, following a brief illness. She was born on January 4, 1936 in Roseland, Indiana to the late Archie and Ethel (Morgan) DePeel. On December 20, 1952 Shirley married Gerald "Lloyd" Dumond at a ceremony in Roseland, Indiana. Shirley had many interests and hobbies including gardening, cooking, baking, she was known for her peanut butter fudge and also tending to her flowers. She also enjoyed traveling, especially venturing to the Upper Peninsula where the outdoors could be a place of adventure and solace. She also loved spending time with her family, especially her grandchildren. Preceeding Shirley in death were her parents and her sisters Virginia Buck, Arlene Hintz, Margie Fast, and Bernice Cates. Surviving Shirley are her husband Gerald "Lloyd" of Niles, her two sons; Gerald, Jr. (Shelley) Dumond of Niles, Craig (Pam) Dumond of Niles, and her two daughters Wendy Dumond and Sherri (Kevin) Tonkin of Niles. She is also survived by her six grandchildren.
