Obituary of Donald Ashley

Donald "Don" Hershel Ashley, 52, of Ontario Street in Niles, passed away at his home on Friday, March 7, 2008 after a long illness. Don was born on December 24, 1955 in Niles to the late Elmer and Margaret (Forkum) Ashley. He was one of 4 children in the Ashley household. After graduating from high school Don began working at Woodfield Manor. Don faithfully worked at Woodfield for over 30 years before he retired. In his off time he enjoyed gaming, drawing, models, fishing and all animals but especially cats. Most of all Don enjoyed spending time with his nieces and nephews, Don had a big heart and was always willing to help. Don is preceded in death by his parents and brother Tillman Ashley. He is survived by his sister Linda Ashley of Niles and Brother Jimmy (Jannet) Ashley of Lawrence, Michigan, nieces and nephews Shawn Ashley of Hartford, MI, Janet Bankston of Lawrence, MI, Amanda Ashley of Mishawaka, IN, and Shanna Bankston of Lawrence and 7 great Nieces and Nephews. A time of visitation will be held on Wednesday, March 12, 2008 from 10-11 with his funeral service following at 11am at Brown Funeral Home & Cremation Services of Niles. Arrangements have been entrusted to Brown Funeral Home & Cremation Services of Niles.
