Phyllis Jeanne Cox, 69, of Granger, passed away on Thursday, September 13, 2018.

Phyllis was born on September 5, 1949, to the late Marion and Dorothy (Helmer) Skinner in Niles, Michigan.

On August 10, 1968, Phyllis wed the love of her life, William “Bill” Cox at a ceremony in Niles at St. Mary’s Catholic Church.  Together they had two children, Chris and Shelly, and several dogs.  When Phyllis was younger she enjoyed making stained glass.  More recently she just thrived at being a mother and grandmother.  She loved all of the time she was able to spend with her children, grandchildren, and even her bonus grandchildren.  She loved her dogs Violet, Rosie, and Chuck.  She was also an avid reader and enjoyed playing cards with anyone.  She was known to play poker a time or two at several local establishments.

She was preceded in death by her parents, Marion and Dorothy; husband, Bill Cox; daughter, Michelle; and sister, Pat Skinner.

Phyllis is survived by her son, Christopher (Becky) Cox of South Bend; four grandchildren; brother, Jimmy (Vicky) Skinner of Niles; sister Cathy Schilling of Tallahassee, Florida and many extended family members and close friends.

A time of visitation will be held at Brown Funeral Home & Cremation Services on Friday, September 21, 2018, from 1:00 until 3:00 p.m.
